False Positive Blood Test in Hospital?

The person had 1 miscarriage and 2 abortions? The person also has an ovarian cyst. They went to the Doctor and the urine test came out negative and blood test was positive. Also, I have read that ovarian cysts cause hCG to go up causing an inaccurate reading if there is a pregnancy causing a false positive? The person also has been diagnosed with "threatened miscarriage". They will be getting an ultrasound soon. Also the hCG for the person is 34 and they are supposedly 4.5 weeks. I need some educated answers, thank you, God Bless.
