My husband is 49 years old last week we took blood sugar test result was fasting sugar 73mg/dl and pp 145mg/d?

again we had blood test in hi tech lab fasting was 87mg/dl and pp was 195mg/dl , his he diabetic, one of our neighbour who is a doctor told he is normal because fasting is normal and pp differs according to diet, is this true , is my husband diabetic please suggest i am worried
