What is a good brand of paint at a reasonable price?

My husband and I are newlyweds, living in Hawaii on the military base. We just moved into our first apartment and I want to paint the interior. Now since this place is only temporary (at least 6 months, no longer than one year) I don't want to spend too much money on the best paint out there, however, I don't want the paint to look bad either. What would you suggest on the brand of paint that is low cost but still looks good?
